Around the World today

Heiskell,  TN

We left Marion, NC on Saturday morning after saying a sad farewell to several new found friends.
Only a short time later we crossed over into Tennessee.

We arrived at our destination around 1:30.    We have three weeks before a project in Georgia.  We've decided to settle at this Escapees Park for the entire three weeks.    This park is within a short drive to Dollywood, Smoky Mountain National Park, Gatlinburg and Sevierville, TN.  Plenty to do for sure.
We spent Saturday afternoon and evening just settling in.

On Sunday we found the local United Methodist Church in Heiskell and attended both the service and then stayed for Sunday School.  They were really nice people who made us feel so very welcome.

After church we walked the campground's nature trail.  We selected the more difficult path.   The path wound up and around about a 200 foot climb.   Coming back down was so much easier.

In the afternoon from 2 to 4 a jam session was held in the social room.  Good old country music!

And now for today....  our trip around the world

It started at Outdoor World

I have been wanting a bird feeder to hang along with my hummingbird feeder.  We found this one that uses a 2 liter soda bottle for the seed container.

Then we went to Camping World

We bought a bicycle rack to hang our bikes on the back ladder.   When we got back to the campground Len installed it with Lucky the Cat observing from inside.
All this world travel got us hungry for lunch.  Next stop WORLD famous Cracker Barrel for their oh so good Meatloaf.
No trip around the world is complete without a stop at Wally World.

While at Wally World we had the oil and filter changed in the truck.   As we have a Pressure Pro System, Leonard told the mechanics DO NOT check the tire pressure.   Okay, we leave Wally World and get about 5 miles from the campground and off go two of the tire sensors.   We get to the campground, Len checks and three of the Pressure Pro valves were not put back on correctly.    He called the Walmart service department.  They said to bring our truck back and they would air us up.  NO WAY!   By that time we were almost flat.  Len checked and the campground has an air compressor so he added the air himself.

Whenever we get the truck serviced, we make sure they do not mess with the valves as each one is programmed to be read by the system according to location.   They were told, they didn't listen.

Escapees Parks have social hour each day from 4 to 5.   If we are in the park during those hours, we make a point of attending, which we did on Saturday and again today.

No plans for tomorrow.  I think we spent enough money today traveling the world!

Sure is hard to get good customer service anymore,I had a flat repaired and told them what to inflate the tire to.When I picked up the truck they had not even put the pressure pro monitor back on. It was laying on the bench.Put it on and they had not aired it to the proper pressure. For that I paid $ 25.00.

Sam is the same way,he tells them just change the oil and filter, the truck takes 11 1/2 quarts of Rotella 15-40w and hit each grease fitting there are 12, don't touch the air filter, coolant, or anything else. He then plants himself by the bay window and watches and doesn't hesitate to remind them of his wishes. When we are home Sam has a complete shop in the garage, on the road he has had to many things screwed up that he doesn't trust his pride and joy to anyone. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.

After visiting my cousins in WV, we got an early start and stopped at a Methodist Church in Hedgesville, a little mountain town. They asked what brings us to Hedgesville? We said we were passing through. I heard one man say, "What ja do make a wrong turn off the expressway?" Everyone laughed and welcomed us.
