Movin on to New York

Central Bridge,  NY

While still at Ives Run Campground in Tioga, PA we drove over to Corning, NY and toured the

Cost of this museum is $14.00 for anyone over age 19.   Discounts for AAA members or over age 55.  We are both.  I told the cashier we were 19.  She wasn't buying it.    So, we paid the $11.90 each.

Now, I worked at a glass decorating plant as Personal Manager years ago.  I understand glass can be interesting in it's various forms, but two hours later my eyes were glazing over.  No pun intended.

A sculpture of a dress and shawl made of glass.

Egyptian glass made any where from 1,000 to 1,500 B.C.   Now this was interesting.

I kinda liked this child's tea set.  If I remember right, it was made in France in the 1800's.  Our granddaughters would love it.

We left Ives Run this morning at 10:25.   One last look across the lake from Rt 287 to the campground area.

The drive today was 195 miles.  We made one stop for lunch at Mickey D's and arrived at Hide-A-Way Campsites in Central Bridge, NY at 2:15.    This campground has just electric and water.  So we will use the camps showers.

We are parked right next to the pool and close to the showers and laundry.  It is a small campground of just 60 sites and most of them appear to be seasonals.

Back last month while in Gettysburg we lost power two times when our surge protector shut us down.  At that time we thought it was a problem with the campground.   Len fiddled with the cord and each time we got power back on.  Last week when we arrived at Ives Run and got plugged in, again no power.   Nothing seemed to work.  The gentlemen who runs the store also does RV repairs.  He came over and suggested the issue was with our cord.   He and Len messed with it and again we had power.

The other day we stopped at a RV store and bought a new plug.    Len said he would have to eventually replace the plug.   Well, today once more no power.   So - today was the day to replace the plug that connects to the electrical box.   What?  Wasn't that supposed to be the problem.  He replaced the plug and NO POWER.

So, Len looked at the thingy (a technical term) that connects the cord to the rig.   Looked like lots of loose wires.   Simple repair - take the thingy apart and better secure the wires.

Sometimes it takes trial and error.   If one end of the cord is not the problem, try the other end.  In this case, appears the problem is solved.  We have electric.  Now, if only the campground would do something about this no sewer thing.

Glad Len was able to fix the electric problem. Now all you need is sewer and I don't think Len should have to fix that problem. :)Enjoy your stay

wow it looks almost like we are following you as we will be heading to Ives tomorrow and will leave on Friday for the same reason as you - no weekend sites... I too was looking at the park you are at now since my friend's place is near it. I am hoping the park there is nice enough to stay a bit - is it?
